lost my father when I was just a child In that silence I came to
understand that absence can also become a kind of presence one that
calls you toward DUTY toward RESPONSIBILITY and toward something greater than yourself For me that presence was inseparable from the idea of AMERICA itself
Fathers are our first heroes They teach us what it means to stand steady in uncertain times to believe in FREEDOM
and to carry forward the unfinished work of those who came before us
Their example becomes a quiet compass guiding us not only in who we
become but in what we owe to one another
Today we honor every father every grandfather every mentor who understood that raising a child is also an act of CIVIC FAITH Your influence reaches further than you know shaping hearts strengthening character and keeping alive the promise of this NATION
