🇺🇸 MANHATTAN SIDEWALK EXPLOSION CAUSES PANIC
The explosion sent concrete flying into the air along East 48th Street.
Miraculously, no one was injured.
Firefighters responded to reports of manhole fires, and nearby buildings were evacuated.
The
FDNY suspects trapped gas beneath the sidewalk may have caused the
explosion, while Con Edison shut down power and gas to the affected
building.
An investigation is ongoing to discover the cause of the explosion.
