Jetten heeft me net gebeld. Hij gaf aan dat hij het premierschap
ernstig had onderschat en het vertrouwen van zijn coalitiepartners
ernstig had overschat.
Hij had geen vertrouwen meer in zijn eigen
kabinet. Ik zei dat ik zijn eerlijkheid waardeerde. Omdat onze partijen
een gelijk aantal zetels hadden gewonnen bij de verkiezingen, gaf de
heer Jetten aan dat hij het premierschap aan mij wilde overdragen.
We gaan samen om 12:00 uur naar de koning om de overdracht te formaliseren.
Morgen zal ik de noodtoestand invoeren, de grenzen sluiten voor alle asielzoekers en voorbereidingen treffen voor een grote remigratie van Syriërs en anderen terug naar hun eigen thuislanden. AZC's kunnen sluiten, de dwangwet wordt ingetrokken, onze huizen worden weer van ons, en met het bespaarde geld zullen we onmiddellijk de accijnzen op benzine en diesel verlagen

He indicated that he had seriously underestimated the premiership and seriously overestimated the trust of his coalition partners. He no longer had confidence in his own cabinet. I said I appreciated his honesty.
Since our parties had won an equal number of seats in the elections, Mr. Jetten indicated that he wanted to hand over the premiership to me.
We will go together to the King at 12:00 to formalize the transfer.
Tomorrow I will put the state of emergency into effect, close the borders to all asylum seekers, and make preparations for a large remigration of Syrians and others back to their own home countries. AZCs can close, the compulsion law will be withdrawn, our houses will be ours again, and with the money saved, we will immediately lower the excise duties on gasoline and diesel.
