The French Prime Minister has announced that he intends to ask the National Assembly for a vote of confidence on September 8.

However, a significant portion of parliamentary groups has already announced their intention to withdraw their confidence in the Prime Minister – and consequently, to overthrow the government. This is primarily the far-left LFI party and the right-wing nationalist Rassemblement National, but also the Greens, the Communists, and the Socialists.

ARD Marine Le Pen speaks of "political verdict." Party calls for protests. The French right-wing populist Le Pen, who was convicted of embezzling EU funds, has criticized the trial against her as "politically motivated." The Rassemblement National politician told broadcaster TF1 that the aim was to exclude her from the 2027 presidential election.

Her party called on the public to protest. 

Deutschlandfunk 49 percent want Le Pen as presidential candidate. A Paris court has banned Marine Le Pen from elections for five years. But a few days after the ruling, a poll shows that many French people still want the right-wing populist as their candidate.
